"Those were the best days of my life." Isn't that what every parent wants to hear their kid say come September? Summer camp can help provide that experience for your child. Camps are a place where children grow individually and socially while they have fun and make new friends.
The Boys of Summer
All energy all the time? Let's get it out.
- Catamount Mountain Biking (ages 8-17) Half days for 8 & 9 year olds. Full day and overnighters for everyone else. There is even a girls only option too.
- Sugarbush Biking and Adventure Camps (ages 6-17) Hike, bike, climb, golf, tennis, swim...are you tired? I am.
- Challenger British Soccer Camp (ages 6-15) Intensive week long training with technical drills, practices, mini-games, and daily tourneys.
- Mad River Glen Naturalist Adventure Camp (ages 8-12) Rock Climb, kayak, canoe, bike, and swim. Combine all that wet and wild fun to become one with nature and you got yourself one outdoorsy kind of camp.
- Break it, Build It (ages 6-11) Burlington City Arts lets your tiny tinkerer take apart broken computers, typewriters, fans and other electronics. Put the parts back together in the shape of a sculpture. DIY types unite!
Magical Mystery Tour
Creative types need an outlet too. Thinking caps on!
- Burlington City Arts (ages 3-14) Whether it is photography, graphic design, sewing, Japanese anime, or edible art, creativity and imagination are highly encouraged at these camps. New this year, BCA and ECHO are partnering to offer kids several camps related to nature photography and wind power.
- Shelburne Museum LEAP (learn + play)! (ages 6-15): Calling all artisan apprentices, architect wanna-bes and mad scientists.
Bust a Move
Says she wants to dance cause she likes to groove.
- Urban Dance (ages 7-18) Learn to Hip Hop at Vermont's only hip hop dance studio. Day camps and a special one week overnight camp at Bolton Valley Resort for 12-18 year olds.
- Celtic Dance (ages 7-10) Get jiggy with it. Half Day camps teach kids traditional Scottish Highland and Irish Step Dance.
- Hruska Gymnastics (ages 5 and up) Theme weeks here include HSM3, Dance & Drama and Under the Sea.
With Or Without You
Potty Trained? Whoo-hoo now they can go to camp too. That is if they will let you go at the door.
- Camp Tadpole (ages 3-6) Even the youngest artists can spend a few hours at BCA being crafty with clay, paint, glitter and more.
- Disney Princess Camp (ages 3 & 4) Your girls will immerse themselves in the magical world of Belle, Cinderella, and Snow White at Spotlight on Dance.
- North Branch Nature Center (ages 3-5) Polliwogs to Frogs, Colorful Creatures, Oh My! Get those detective hats on for a week of discovery and exploration. No buggin' out here.
- Bellwether School Camps (ages 3-5) Open to Bellwether families and the public.
- YMCA Nature Camp (ages 3-5) a half day session with multiple locations so even your littlest ones can explore the gardens, meadows and forests all the while playing games and making new friends.
