Spooky Town

Halloween may still be a week away, but why not make the most out of those costumes you put together for your kids? There is plenty of trick-or-treating to be done. It is time to scare up some fun for the weekend.

Friday

The Harvest Carnival @ St. Mikes - Costumes, candy, prizes, games and more. Best for ages 2-12.

The Haunted Forest - This annual fright fest kicks-off tonight.  If you have little ones it might be best to go to the Children's Matinees (geared towards kids 8 and under) on Saturday at noon or 1pm.

Saturday

Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treating on Church Street - Around 10:00am stop by the Firehouse Gallery and make some Spooky Art.  Then head up Church Street all the while trick-or-treating in any store that displays a pumpkin in the window.  Meet up at City Hall around noon for a costume parade with your fellow ghosts and goblins.

Middlebury Spooktacular - This is a first for Middlebury.  Join them in their frightful festivities as they decorate their town green with hay bales, luminaries and lit pumpkins so that children can parade and trick-or-treat around Main Street.

Halloween Family Fun Night @ The YMCA - Creepy crafts, ghoulish games, a bouncy castle, swimming and more.

The Haunted Warehouse - for those with older kids who want to enjoy Halloween in all of its gory glory this might be the show for you.  It is not recommend for those who scare easily.  Little ones should try the special kids show from 12-2 on Sunday. Worth noting: if you are craving Dizzy's Donuts they will be on sale at this event. Yum!

Fright Fest @ the Great Escape - If a little road trip is what your family is seeking then head here for some thrills and chills.  Less scary by day, more spooky by night. You will find a costume and scream contest, scary-oke, zombie dancers and more. Worth noting: Buying your tickets online saves you $16 a ticket!

Sunday

Haunted Happenings @ Shelburne Museum - Come in costume, trick-or-treat around the museum grounds and even throw a pumpkin of the top deck of the Ticonderoga!  Spooky-Cool!

Bats! A Grave Situation @ ECHO - Nothing better then learning about the little creatures that gave us Vampires!

Shelburne Halloween Parade - Visit the town of Shelburne as they celebrate the sugar-fest with a parade at 2:00, costume contest, trick-or-treating and food drive.

Have a Boo-tiful Day!
