This summer the FlynnArts Summer Camp Program is thinking outside the theater. Teaming up with some key players around town, they have been able to provide your kids with the opportunity to get the best of both worlds. At the same time you to get the most bang for your Camp buck! Check out some of these fabulous finds:
Puppets, Parades & Pageantry (ages 6 -10) In an alliance with Burlington City Arts this camp includes marching in the big Burlington Quadricentennial parade on July 11.
History Comes Alive (ages 8-13) Travel back in time during this historic improvisation camp held @ Shelburne Farms on the lakefront to make living history all the more real.
Horses, Snails, & Fairy Tales (ages 6-7) FlynnArts heads to Shelburne Farms for real-life animal adventure camp.
Summertime Jazz program (ages 10 and up) This is an intensive collaboration with UVM to immerse students in the study of Latin Jazz for a week.
Shipwrecked (ages 8-10) A partner camp with the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum, including a boat ride with a diving RIV camera to see a real-life shipwreck!
Radio Plays (ages 11-14) A partner camp with VPR, including a day spent with an engineer at the studios recording their radio show.
Willy Wonka’s Wacky Wonders (ages 6-7) Your child will have the golden ticket at this camp with trips to ECHO and the Lake Champlain Chocolates Factory.
Of course the Flynn also offers almost 20 more wonderful dance, drama, broadway, and music camps onsite in their dance and theater studios as well as ON the Flynn Mainstage and in the blackbox theater, FlynnSpace. In April, 12-18 year olds can audition for a summer musical, Once Upon a Mattress.
